Division special departure and reservations
The division special departure and reservations coordinates all acts required for the departure of aliens to whom the regular process and regular responsibilities do not apply on account of a number of criteria.
The criteria are:
- Special (vulnerable) interest(s) of the alien, (including the interests of unaccompanied minors, medical interests);
- Special interest of the Dutch State in the departure (including danger to national security), and;
- Complex effectuation of the removal for logistic reasons or otherwise (including government flights and different routes).
The department is also responsible for obtaining an approval from third countries for taking back and taking over aliens pursuant to the agreements to take back and take over concluded in this connection. Insofar as the agreements to take back and take over are concluded with countries that are also parties to the Dublin agreement, the activities are performed by the Dublin Unit of the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) in Zevenaar. The Dublin Unit of the IND performs these activities under the responsibility of DT&V and reports to the Division Manager of the Division special departure and reservations.
In addition, the division is also responsible for the reservation agency, which is responsible for booking all flights and escorts for removing the aliens.
