Key characteristic of DT&V as an organization is that DT&V is multi-disciplinary. DT&V is not only composed of staff members of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, but also of officers of the Aliens Police and the Royal Marechaussee, who work for DT&V on a secondment basis. These officers perform the same duties as the staff members of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, but they do not have any regulatory powers.
