What do the interviews with the foreign national entail?

What do the interviews with the foreign national entail?

Our supervisor departure and the foreign national discuss:

  • the fact that the foreign national must leave the Netherlands,
  • where the foreign national can go: his or her country of origin or another country to which the foreign national can gain entry,
  • whether the foreign national wants to work on his or her own departure,
  • the steps already taken by the foreign national to arrange for his or her departure,
  • how the foreign national can obtain support for his or her repatriation/return, via the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) or the Dutch Council for Refugees (VluchtelingenWerk Nederland), amongst others
  • the fact that the foreign national may possibly be forcefully returned/repatriated if he or she does not return voluntarily.

It is very important for the foreign national and supervisor departure to understand each other well. An interpreter is therefore always present (by telephone) during the interviews.
