What does the DT&V do if, during a departure-related interview, it appears as though the foreign national wants to (re)apply for asylum?

New facts and circumstances may come to light during the departure procedure. The new fact or circumstance may prompt the foreign national to submit a (repeat) application to the the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). If this is the case, we advise the foreign national to discuss this with his or her lawyer. We don't make any other judgement calls, because that responsibility is reserved for the IND.
