Increased return support for Syria
To encourage Syrians to return and facilitate an easier reintegration process, Syrians who have entered the Netherlands before October 1st 2025, are temporarily eligible for higher reintegration support of €5,000 per adult and €2,500 per minor. Minister Van Weel announced this policy in a letter to Parliament.
Syrians who wish to benefit from this support can apply between November 17 2025 and January 1 2026, using the registration form on the website of the Repatriation and Departure Service (DTenV). Syrians who are in the Netherlands due to a pending asylum application, (temporary) residence status or a return decision can apply for this support. They must be registered and known by an organization in the migration chain. DTenV is responsible for implementing this temporary policy.
