Discover your way home
Do you want to return to your country of origin? You may have questions and doubts. Our return counsellors support you to explore possibilities. Like those of the European Union Reintegration Programme (EURP). You can also download a brochure in many languages: Reintegration Assistance for Migrants Brochure.
During one-on-one sessions you can discuss all aspects about your future in your country of origin. Think of:
- Reunification with family of friends
- Housing
- Medical care
- Work
During the counselling sessions you will receive useful information about the possibilities of return and how we can help you. Your counsellor will make sure that any relevant personal condition or circumstance will be taken into account. During these sessions you are welcome to request an interpreter if you need one.
How we can help you
One of the possibilities for return support is via EURP, the Reintegration Programme of the European Union. Via EURP we support you with a new future in your country of origin: during the preparation of your return, right after arrival and during the first year after your return. EURP works together with reintegration partners in your country of origin who can offer help right there.
Preparation of your return
Your counsellor assists you with the necessary steps for your departure. For example:
- Obtaining travel documents
- Arranging flight tickets
- Developing a plan for your reintegration in your country of origin
Upon arrival
After arriving at the airport, you may be provided with immediate support for the first few days by the reintegration partner. For example with airport pick-up, short term housing, medical assistance, onward transport and family reunification.
Upon arrival you will receive 615 euro in cash and/or in kind to meet your immediate essential needs.
The first year after your return
You can also receive long term assistance from the reintegration partner during the first year after your return. Examples of long-term assistance include:
- long term housing and related costs
- regular medical assistance
- education
- job counseling and assistance in setting up a small business
- legal counselling and administrative support
- psychosocial support
If you apply for long term assistance, the following applies:
If you leave voluntarily you can receive 2.000 euro in kind and 1.000 euro in kind per dependent family member after returning to your country of origin.
Upon forced departure, you can receive 1.000 euro in kind and 1.000 euro in kind per dependent family member after returning to your country of origin.
